IABA Scholarships for 2022
The Iranian American Bar Association Foundation and the Iranian American Bar Association Northern California Chapter are proud to announce our 2022 scholarships available to law students of Iranian heritage. We are delighted to foster the growth of law students and to invest in the leadership of future Iranian-American lawyers. Thanks to our generous members, donors, and community leaders, we will award the following scholarships to deserving students dedicated to community service and public interest.
All current law students are eligible to apply. Selection criteria and deadline will vary based on the scholarship. Please see below for specific instructions regarding our scholarship categories for 2022. DEADLINES ARE LISTED BELOW.
IABA National Scholarships
(1) Judge Iravani-Sani Public Interest Scholarship: The Judge Iravani-Sani Public Interest Scholarship will support a law student of Iranian heritage who is pursuing public service law. Candidates from across the country are eligible to apply. IABA would like to thank Judge Iravani-Sani for her generous contribution and for being a role model to Iranian-American law students. The scholarship award is $2,500. Due 11:59 p.m. June 1, 2022.
(2) IABA Foundation Scholarship: IABA Foundation grants one or more scholarships each year to law students who have demonstrated a commitment to the advancement of the Iranian-American community. Applicants must be of Iranian heritage and full-time students at an accredited law school (applications from UCI School of Law will be accepted) in the United States who are not otherwise receiving full educational funding from another organization. In addition to funding, scholarship recipient(s) will receive one year of mentorship from an IABA mentor. Due 11:59 p.m. July 31, 2022.
Our scholarships are generously funded by local IABA Chapters, donations by individual sponsors, as well as law firms and community organizations. We are privileged and proud to have the support of our local Chapters and members of our legal community in building a team to support the future success of Iranian students.

IABA Norcal Scholarships
IABA NorCal will have two different scholarships to support law students of Iranian heritage. All IABA NorCal scholarship applicants must have a connection to Northern California (via, employment, law school, or substantial prior residency).
(1) IABA NorCal Public Interest Scholarship: We are proud to award scholarships to law students who are pursuing a summer internship, externship or clerkship in public interest. This includes a position at 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations, or a government agency, or a judicial clerkship. Please note, students who will be working remotely for their public interest position are still eligible to apply. Applicants must have a connection to Northern California (via, employment, law school, or substantial prior residency). The scholarship award is $2,500. Application deadline extended. Due 11:59 p.m. June 1, 2022.
(2) IABA NorCal General Scholarship: law students that have shown leadership or commitment to the advancement of the Iranian-American community. Scholarships can be used for general law school expenses, to cover the cost of summer positions, or to cover bar exam study expenses. Applicants must have a connection to Northern California (via, employment, law school, or substantial prior residency). The scholarship award is $2,500. Due 11:59 p.m. June 1, 2022.
